Principal's Message

Dr. Cynthia Marlowe,

Principal

Welcome to Claude H. & Stella M. Parson Elementary School!

I am honored to serve as the proud principal of this extraordinary school community. Now in my eighth year at Parson ES, I remain deeply committed to ensuring the academic success and personal growth of every student who walks through our doors.

With more than 33 years in education—32 of those with the Clark County School District—I bring a broad range of experience to my role. I began my career as a Substitute Instructional Assistant, later spent eight wonderful years teaching at the elementary level, and then served six years as an Assistant Principal before becoming Principal. On a personal note, I have been married for 35 years and am the proud mother of five.

At Parson, we are working diligently to meet and exceed our academic goals. We believe every child deserves a high-quality education that nurtures both the mind and character. One of my favorite quotes, and one that guides our work, comes from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.:

“The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character — that is the goal of true education.”

Melanie McCraney,

Assistant Principal

I am honored to serve as the Assistant Principal at Claude H. and Stella M. Parson Elementary School. Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, I am proud to be a Clark County School District graduate. I have dedicated more than 20 years to education within CCSD, teaching students from Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade and serving as a Special Education Instructional Facilitator. In my free time, I enjoy watching movies and spending quality time with my family.

I believe that a collaborative school environment is essential for creating successful teachers and students. Strong partnerships among staff, parents, and the community play a vital role in ensuring every student’s success.

DeCuba McMillon-Porter,

Assistant Principal

It is an honor and a privilege to serve as Assistant Principal at Claude H. & Stella M. Parson ES. I am inspired daily by our dedicated and passionate community of students, parents, and educators. I received my educational degrees from California State Fullerton and Azusa Pacific University. I love what I do and consider myself extremely fortunate to have found a home at Parson!
